Farmer Brown free range eggs originate from the world’s most geographically isolated country, New Zealand. New Zealand is ranked first for food safety and animal welfare and is one of the few countries free of Avian Influenza (bird flu).
Farmer Brown eggs are produced by Zeagold – a company owned by New Zealand’s largest egg producer, Mainland Poultry Limited. Zeagold has full control over every aspect of the egg production process, so it can guarantee quality, transparency and freshness.
Farmer Brown’s free range hens have total freedom to roam around rolling pastures beneath the canopy of trees. In line with New Zealand’s Animal Welfare (Layer Hens) Code of Welfare 2012 stocking density is less than 2,500 hens per hectare (compared to Australia’s national standard of up to 10,000 hens per hectare).
100% Traceability – all the way back to the farm of origin
All Farmer Brown eggs are stamped with a unique identity code. Want to know exactly where your egg comes from go to http://www.tracemyegg.co.nz
The Fernmark Approval
Farmer Brown eggs carry the ‘Fernmark’ – the New Zealand Government’s tick of approval. This means consumers can check the authenticity of our eggs by visiting www.newzealand.com and entering our FernMark licence number (100303). This provides government validation confirming that our eggs are exactly what they claim to be.
