At Lewis Road Creamery, we’ve got long memories. Long enough to recall a time when the milk was delivered to your doorstep. When you woke up to the clinking of glass bottles, and when there was a daily argument over who got to peel off the foil lid and help themselves to the delicious, thick cream that settled at the top. It was from those memories that our milk was created. Today, we have a range of milks – from dreamy to creamy, from tummy friendly to planet conscious, we’ve been on a journey to bring you the very best range of milks – so you can enjoy it your way, every time.

100% Recycled Plastic

On our journey, we’ve discovered there’s more to what’s inside our milk bottles — there’s the bottles themselves. Today, we’re proud to be using bottles made from 100% recycled plastic across our entire milk, cream and flavoured milk ranges. In fact, we are the first Australasian dairy company to do so. They are fully recyclable, and are accepted by every recycling department in the country too – woohoo! And great news, our rPET bottles have picked up not one, but two gold awards at trans-Tasman 2019 Packaging Innovation and Design Awards in the Beverage and Sustainability (Circular Economy) categories, as well as the 2020 World Star Packaging Awards where they received Gold in the special Sustainability Awards.

Our signature Jersey Milk is sourced from our gorgeous single herd Jersey cows that naturally make creamier, more full-bodied milk that is smooth & silky in texture, while our beautiful Organic mixed-herd milk is produced by organic farms in the Waikato – smooth, creamy and full of flavour.

For those that struggle to digest majority of the A1 Protein in NZ, our A2 Protein milks come from carefully selected farms with cows that naturally only have A2 Protein, touted to be proteins that are easier to digest. For our Comfort Milk, we started with this A2 Protein milk and broken down the lactose to make it lactose-free and the ultimate in digestive comfort – a first in NZ.

Our Jersey, Organic and A2 Protein milks all come in a non-homogenised option with cream on top – milk that is as close to the farm gate as you can get (while still at the supermarket). Simply pasteurised and bottled, it’s milk the way nature intended.

From our well-loved Lightly Salted butter, which is great for your everyday needs, to specialty flavours like Garlic & Parsley and Sea Salt Crystals – we have something to delight every food lover. Of course we didn’t stop there, we went a step further in creating our award-winning 10 Star Butter that has a uniquely golden hue and goes above and beyond in respecting the environment, land, people and planet.

• Where do you get your milk from?

  Core to our business is dairy and the core to dairy is the milk we use. We have two key partners here, Green Valley Dairies, an independently owned bottler who have their own farms which provides a substantial quantity of our milk and the Organic Dairy Hub, a group of farmers who have formed a co-op to foster the growth of organic milk. Lewis Road Creamery and GVD have been foundation partners of the Organic Dairy Hub.

  Do you have any lactose free products?

  We currently range a lactose free milk in a 750ml bottle, which has the same full bodied flavour and smooth silky texture… without the lactose!

• Can I freeze Lewis Road Creamery products?

• Yes, you can freeze our white milk! Here are some tips and tricks for perfecting the freeze:
• 1. As soon as you purchase the milk, store vertically in the freezer and leave some space on each side for expansion.
• 2. Try to keep the it away from anything strong-smelling as milk can absorb flavours (sausage flavoured milk isn’t coming to a supermarket near you anytime soon!).
• 3. You can freeze it for up to 3-6 months (no longer).
• 4. The thawing process is very important! Don’t leave it out in the sun or just in the sink, the best way is to stand upon a plate in the refrigerator, and it could take about two days to be ready.
• 5. You might see some colour and texture changes, especially in our full fat milk but this is normal after freezing.
• 6. Drink and use within two to three days!
